Seeing the Transformation of Politeknik Negeri Batam in Supporting Industries in Batam
NEWS-Politeknik Negeri Batam (Polibatam) has now transformed to meet the expectations of the industrial world in Batam. In line with the times, the expansion of education is increasingly being expanded by opening Study Programs that are friendly to the needs of human resources (HR) in the industrial sector.
GoWest Indonesia had the opportunity to visit this well-known college in Batam and have a talk with the Director of Politeknik Negeri Batam, Uuf Brajawidagda. In a long conversation with the Host of Ngobrol Everywhere, Hadis Hamzah, Uuf explained various things about the transformation of Polibatam in supporting the industrial sector in Batam.
For information, Polibatam has 4 Departments, i.e. Electrical Engineering, Informatics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Business Management. This year, the number of Polibatam students has reached 8,400 people.
In the Electrical Engineering Department, there are 6 Study Programs, including D3 Electronics Engineering, D3 Manufacturing Electronics Engineering, D3 Instrumentation Engineering, D4 Mechatronics Engineering, D4 Robotics Engineering, and D4 Energy Generation Engineering Technology.
In the Informatics Engineering Department, there are 6 Study Programs, i.e. D3 Informatics Engineering, D3 Geomatics Technology, D4 Multimedia and Network Engineering, D4 Animation, D4 Cyber Security Technology, and D4 Software Engineering.
The last, Business Management Department has 4 Study Programs, including D3 Accounting, D4 Managerial Accounting, D4 Business Administration, and D4 International Trade Logistics.
“This Poltek (short name for Politeknik Negeri Batam) is dedicated to the industries. One of them is the D3 Manufacturing Electronics program, which specifically studies chips,” explained Uuf.
The talks flowed casually and discussed a lot about Polibatam’s efforts in creating a safe and comfortable space for students to gain knowledge. The GoWest crews were also invited to tour various locations at Batam Polytechnic, starting from animation studios, airplane hangars, robot labs, chip manufacturing miniatures, and others.
