With the background on the need for solving humanitarian problems, it is necessary to make smart and dynamic strategic steps for research activities at Politeknik Negeri Batam. The strategy chosen is the determination of a research program based on the expertise of Politeknik Negeri Batam researchers. The strategic research program that is superior is the bottom-up process through identifying real competencies from a researcher’s track record and being able to compete for both on a national and international scale by choosing a strategic program (the type of research that is superior) that is typical of vocational education.

Student Research
Polibatam continues to endeavor to produce young researchers who contribute to the welfare of the nation and the development of science by providing research opportunities for students. This effort is implemented through practicum activities that have special Credits (SKS) score in several courses. In addition, the curriculum also provides opportunities for students to undertake research internships or practical work in various research institutions or companies
Research Publications
Apart from lecturers and laboratory assistants, Polibatam students are also encouraged to publish the result of their study in scientific journals, both at national and international levels.
