Polibatam to Hold Microcredential and RPL Conversion Program Information Session to Support Flexible Learning

BATAM – Politeknik Negeri Batam (Polibatam) is expanding opportunities for the public to enhance their competencies and gain wider access to higher education through its Microcredential and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Conversion Program. Comprehensive information about the program will be presented during an online information session on Friday, 31 July 2026.

The program is designed for individuals who have not yet had the opportunity to enrol as new students at Polibatam, working professionals seeking to upgrade their skills, and members of the public who require more flexible learning options. Unlike regular degree programmes, microcredential courses are not fully bound by the university’s standard academic calendar, making them a suitable alternative for participants with diverse schedules and professional commitments.

Through the Microcredential Program, participants can take a selection of short, competency-based courses designed to develop specific knowledge and practical skills. These courses are expected to strengthen participants’ professional capabilities, help them adapt to evolving industry demands, and better prepare them for further education.

After completing several microcredential courses, participants may have the opportunity to continue their education as Polibatam students through the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) scheme. Under this scheme, previously acquired learning outcomes, competencies, and relevant experience may be formally recognised and converted into academic credits in accordance with Polibatam’s applicable requirements, assessment procedures, and academic regulations.
