Polibatam Take Parts in Faculty Exchange Program At Glasgow College, Scotland

NEWS-The Faculty Exchange Program ‘The 3 themes of Equity, Quality and Relevance’ at City of Glasgow (CofG) College, Scotland United Kingdom, is conducted from 21 October – 5 November 2022. The Faculty Exchange is fully supported by the ILO and the British Embassy through Skills for Prosperity Programs in Indonesia.

The aim of this program is to increase equal access to education and employment in the maritime sector for women and persons with disabilities, which is one of the pillars of CofG College. On this occasion, the Polibatam delegation learned about welfare facilities for vulnerable groups.

The Kemendikbudristek delegation led by the Director General of Vocational Studies, Ms. Kiki Yuliati, arrived in Glasgow to conduct a comparative study with #SfPIndonesia. They were greeted by Mr. Roy Gardner, Vice Principal of Corporate Development and Innovation @CofGCollege. Delegates also met the representatives of @FCDOGovUK.

The delegates also had the opportunity to visit the practicum room which was arranged to resemble a real ship’s engine. This makes it easier for students to actually learn about ship operations.

β€œIt is important for the vocational education sector to engage in recruitment and training of teachers who can provide inclusive education in response to industry skills needs,” said Claire Carney, the Vice Principal of CoFG College.

Hopefully, this program can inspire the delegates who participate and can be useful as well in the application at Polibatam.
