Polibatam Holds Graduate Preparation Program 2026 to Equip Graduates for Industry and Global Career Opportunities
BATAM – Politeknik Negeri Batam (Polibatam) organized the Graduate Preparation Program 2026, titled “Next Step: Your Career Starts Here,” under the theme “Preparing Future-Ready Graduates for Industry Opportunities and Global Careers,” on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at the Polibatam campus. The program aimed to equip students and prospective graduates with essential knowledge, motivation, and practical insights to prepare them for the challenges of the professional world and career opportunities at both national and international levels.
The program was designed to strengthen students’ career readiness by introducing them to industry expectations, professional development, and global employment opportunities. Through this initiative, participants were encouraged to recognize their potential, enhance their competencies, and build the confidence necessary to compete in an increasingly dynamic job market.
Polibatam Director Bambang Hendrawan encouraged students to embrace challenges, believe in their abilities, and continuously develop their potential. He emphasized the importance of stepping outside their comfort zones, exploring new opportunities, and remaining creative and confident in pursuing their professional goals.
According to Bambang, professional success is determined not only by academic knowledge and technical expertise but also by professionalism, creativity, adaptability, and a willingness to keep learning. He therefore urged students to make the most of every opportunity to gain experience and broaden their perspectives.
The event featured several distinguished speakers from various professional backgrounds. Billy Mambrasar shared motivational insights and inspiration for career development, while Mustain Mahrus, HR Lead Batam & LAC at PT Schneider Electric, discussed industry competency requirements and employment opportunities. Senior Commissioner of Police Imam Riyadi, S.I.K., M.H., also delivered insights into professionalism and character development as essential qualities for entering the workforce.
In addition, a representative from the Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection Service Center (BP3MI) provided information about international employment opportunities, emphasizing the importance of understanding official recruitment procedures and ensuring safe and legal overseas employment. This session offered valuable guidance for students interested in pursuing careers abroad.
Through presentations and experience-sharing sessions, participants gained practical perspectives on preparing for professional careers. The discussions highlighted the importance of communication skills, adaptability, continuous competency development, and mental readiness to navigate the demands of today’s workplace.
The Graduate Preparation Program 2026 also reflected Polibatam’s ongoing commitment to strengthening the connection between vocational education and industry needs.
