Polibatam Represents State Polytechnics throughout Indonesia with BLU Status at the BLU Fair Exhibition 2023 Ministry of Finance
POLIBATAM-Politeknik Negeri Batam (Polibatam) is one of the state universities that applies the Public Service Agency/Badan Layanan Umum (BLU) financial management pattern. Polibatam and Politeknik Negeri Jember represented the Directorate General of Vocational Education of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology at the 2023 BLU Fair Exhibition organized by the Ministry of Finance at Lapangan Banteng, central Jakarta on Thursday-Friday (2-3/03).
In the event titled BLU Inclusive Indonesia Optimistic, BLU Fair 2023 is part of a series of activities at the national level BLU coordination meetings throughout Indonesia which were held on Thursday 2 March 2023 and attended by Minister of Finance (Sri Mulyani Indrawati), Minister of Health (Budi Gunadi Sadikin), Minister of Transportation (Budi Karya Sumadi), and Minister of SMEs and Cooperatives (Teten Masduki). The number of government work units with BLU status continues to grow. Currently, there are at least 264 BLUs with various types of primary services, such as health services, education services, area management services, financing services, and so on.
On the occasion of the two-day exhibition, Polibatam displayed various superior products that had been produced by student teams through Project/Product Based Learning (PBL) such as Virtual Reality (VR) products, including Archery Games, Football Humanoid Robots, Spider Robots, as well as several chip-shaped samples. and PCB produced by the Electronics Manufacturing Teaching Factory in Polibatam. Besides, there is also the Angry Froggy Robot, which is an educational robot initiated by students and ready to be marketed to those who want to learn about making robots from an early age. All of these products are products made by Polibatam Students.
Public interest in visiting the Polibatam exhibition booth was quite high. This can be seen from the crowds of visitors since the first day, especially high school students who besides looking for information about the Polibatam campus, also wanted to try playing VR games made by Polibatam students or try to interact with intelligent humanoid robots or spider robots. Not to be left behind are high-ranking officials from the Ministry of Finance, such as the Deputy Minister of Finance (Suahazil Nazara), the Director General of Treasury (Astera Primanto Bhakti), the Head of the Fiscal Agency (Febrian Nathan Kacaribu), Secretary of the Directorate General of Treasury (Didyk Choiroel), and the Director of PPK BLU (Agung Yulianta), had the opportunity to visit Polibatam stand and show their interest related to the development of robot technology and trying to interact with the game kicking the ball towards the robot and the robot automatically responds to receiving passes and kicking the ball.
Apart from the coordination meeting and exhibition, the activities were also enlivened by various talk shows and entertainment for the general public who also enlivened the exhibition. One of the talk shows was about links & matches between the world of education and the world of industry with several speakers. One of whom was the Director of Polibatam who currently also serves as Plt. director at the Mitras DUDI, Directorate of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, Uuf Brajawidagda.
On this occasion, Polibatam sent a delegation of 7 people, consisting of lecturers and students, they were Riwinoto (Lecturer Expert in Multimedia and Game Development), Dwi Imam (practitioner lecturer in the field of IC Packaging and PCB Assembly), accompanied by Polibatam public relations member, Muhammad Ismeth Lau, as well as 4 students who handle all the technology products that are exhibiting at the BLU Expo 2023 event.
