Polibatam International Trade Logistics Study Program Becomes a Pilot Destination for Polimarin

POLIBATAM-The Polibatam International Trade Logistics/Logistik Perdagangan Internasional (LPI) Study Program became a benchmarking destination for the Polimarin Business Department on Tuesday, 12 September 2023, at meeting room 301 of the main Polibatam building. The head of the Polibatam International Trade Logistics Study Program, Shinta Wahyu Hati, received the group from Polimarin directly.

The Head of the Polymarine Department, Novita Widyaningrum, and her staff were present at this visit. “With this visit we want to see a description of the International Trade Logistics Study Program and job opportunities for logistics management,” said Novita.

Greetings from the Head of the International Trade Logistics Study Program, Mrs. Shinta Wahyu Hati “Welcome to the Polibatam campus for the group from Polimarin.” Why is there an International Trade Logistics Study Program at Politeknik Negeri Batam? Because Batam is a national logistics center, Batam is an industrial city, an Aero economic area, and a tourism city. It requires human resources who understand the industrial world,” said Shinta.

“The International Trade Logistics Study Program at Polibatam is a new study program at the Polibatam Business Management Department which received permission in 2019 and started accepting students in 2020,” explained Shinta.

The Polibatam LPI program graduates have the capacity according to the Indonesian National Work Competency Standards/Standar Kompetensi Kerja Nasional Indonesia (SKKNI) and Occupation in Logistics and Supply Chain. Graduates of the International Trade Logistics Study Program also have specific abilities in Logistics, international trade, supply chain, procurement, warehouse, project, management, Freight Forwarding, customs, and become entrepreneurs.

On this occasion, it was also explained that Polibatam LPI students who have graduated are equipped with certificates such as Warehouse Supervisor, Freight Forwarding SAP, SAP Fundamentals, Custom Export-Import Procurement, Procurement Staff, and PPJK. Polibatam collaborates with the British Embassy Indonesia, the International Labor Organization (ILO), the Indonesian Logistics Association, the City of Glasgow College, the Indonesian Logistics and Forwarders Association, and Batam Customs and Excise.

Apart from the discussion session, there was also a campus tour to see various Polibatam campus facilities and the Polibatam Business Management department facilities.
Hopefully, with this visit, the collaboration between Polibatam and Polimarin will become closer to developing the Tridharma of Higher Education.
