Polibatam Got 3 Awards at the VocationFest & Independent Campus Festival 2023
POLIBATAM-The Directorate General of Vocational Education, Ministry of Education and Culture, held the VocationFest and Independent Campus Festival awards on 11 December 2023. Polibatam got the following 3 awards:
1. Award for the Gold Achievement of Main Performance Indicators/Indikator Kinerja Utama (IKU) for Vocational Colleges number 5, 6, and 7 within the Directorate General of Vocational Education in 2023.
2. Award as Vocational College sending the most students with 426 students in the Independent Entrepreneurship/Wirausaha Merdeka (WMK) 2023 Program.
3. Award as Vocational College receiving the most students with 135 students in the Independent Student Exchange/Pertukaran Mahasiswa Merdeka (PMM) 2023 Program.
Vocational and higher education are important to accelerate the preparation of superior human resources (HR) to realize a Golden Indonesia 2045 and give birth to innovative works for Indonesia’s progress. To promote the achievements of vocational education with the innovation of the Freedom to Learn-Independent Campus/Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) policy in developing superior human resources, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) will hold the Vocationfest and Independent Campus Festival/Festival Kampus Merdeka (FKM) 2023.
The event, which was packaged with the title VocationFest & Independent Campus Festival, was a major collaboration between the Directorate General of Vocational Education (Ditjen Vocational Education) and the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research and Technology (Ditjen Diktiristek). This grand event is also a joint celebration of the various educational transformation achievements that have been carried out by the Ministry of Education and Culture through the Directorate General of Vocational Education and the Directorate General of Education and Technology under the broad umbrella of the Freedom to Learn/Merdeka Belajar policy.
According to Kiki, during the VocationFest & Independent Campus Festival, we can see various works from vocational education units, which are the result of the learning process so far in vocational schools. One is a train chair made by SMKN 2 Salatiga, whose products are currently used in industries.
“Not only works from vocational school students, but there are also works from vocational higher education students, one of which is Tulibot, a hearing aid for people who experience hearing problems. Besides, there are many more things that will be shown,” added Kiki.
On the same occasion, the Acting Director General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology (PLT. Dirjen Diktiristek), Nizam, said that the VocationFest & Independent Campus Festival was an important foundation in the big step of transforming higher education with MBKM.
“Through the Independent Campus journey, which has been running for four years, we have seen many results with nearly one million students joining and thousands of partners from the business and industrial world/dunia usaha dan dunia industri (DUDI) participating. “The Independent Campus Festival is a moment to celebrate the achievements and success of the Independent Campus,” said Nizam in his quoted statement in Jakarta on Sunday (10/12/2023).
“This is an appreciation for the entire Polibatam community for their collective contribution to realizing vocational education that is in line with industry needs and has an impact on Indonesia,” said Uuf, the Director of Polibatam, after receiving these three awards.
