IT TAKES TWO TO TANGO! IAB’s Assistance on Development of Logistic International Trade Study Program

On this occasion, LIT and IE introduced TalentHub and MyInternship applications to IAB’s Members. Industries’ involvement as the stakeholder is needed to run this application. IAB’s members’ support and advice are essential parts of this application’s implementation. These were the opening remarks by the director of Politeknik Negeri Batam, Mr. Uuf Brajawidagda. After the opening from the director, the discussion was directly led by the project manager, Dian Mulyaningtyas. The meeting started with a brief explanation regarding the expected final goals in this Skill for Prosperity Program. Then, it was continued with the presentation of TalentHub and My Internship.

Mr. Heru Iskhan from IAB (Industrial Advisory Board) confirmed that he is ready to support this application to run well entirely. Mr. Gustiyan Haryanto from ATAK (Asosiasi Tenaga Ahli Kepabeanan) Batam also said the same thing and is ready to bridge meetings with other industry associations so that the scope for promoting this application to companies will be broader. Mr. Franklin from PT Cladtek BI-Metal Manufacturing said that this is the first time he has seen this kind of application. According to him, this is an excellent means of connecting talent from Polibatam with industries.

Marry Kent, is the Chief technical advisor, UK skills for prosperity Program Indonesia, International Labor Organization (ILO). Through her explanation, she believes that this program would not only be beneficial for Polibatam’s students but also for the industries. Halida, Education and Skills Advisor of the British Embassy Jakarta, also conveyed the same thing. To conclude the discussion, Leohansen Simatupang, TVET and Skills Development Specialist, a technical advisor, UK skills for prosperity Program Indonesia, ILO for Polibatam, invites the Industry soon to sit down together so that later, TalentHub and MyInternship are ready to be launched soon.

Marry and Halida, with the team from Polibatam continued their visit to PT. Infineon which is also one of the representatives of the IAB. Aldrin Purnomo, the Director of logistics at Infineon Technologies Batam, gave a brief explanation regarding the company profile and descriptions of any collaborations that have been going on with Polibatam. Aldrin Purnomo also appreciated the importance of skill improvement that is one of the main goals of this program. This series of activities was closed by going around PT. Infineon to witness firsthand the business processes here and see the facilities and infrastructure prepared for employees.
