POLIBATAM-Politeknik Negeri Batam opens a new class in the Business Management Department through the Micro-Credentials + RPL program starting in the 2023/2024 academic year. The inaugural lecture was held on Monday, 4 September 2023, in the studio room of the Polibatam Technopreneur Center building. Also present at the event were the Director, Deputy Director 2, Deputy Director 3, Head of the Business Management Department, Head of Shilau, Management of the Micro-Credentials + RPL Diploma Program, and representatives of lecturers from the Business Management Department.

“Welcome all Micro-Credentials students to the Polibatam campus, and welcome to the lectures in this program. The materials in this program are also very complete, can be followed online on the platform, and are not much different from face-to-face lectures. When carrying out lectures, please convey any obstacles to the management of this program,” explained Arni, the Head of Business Management at Polibatam.

The inaugural lecture was opened directly by the Director of Polibatam, Uuf Brajawidagda. In his speech, he said, “Why are we launching this program? At this time, colleges worldwide are facing various challenges in learning technology. Students’ current interest is being able to study online from anywhere and rewind learning at any time. People tend to keep things simple so that flexible programs will be opened on the Polibatam campus in the future, and since 2011, Polibatam has opened the RPL program. Until this year, we are still opening this new program to increase the number of students through the RPL route.

“Welcome to joining the Polibatam campus. Those who have joined this program, pursue your identity and tell your friends that they can also join this program,” added Uuf.

Symbolically, the Director of Polibatam also gave student cards to student representatives or students of the first batch of Polibatam Microcredential + RPL programs in the Business Management Department. In addition, outreach was also carried out regarding the learning platform in the Microcredential + RPL Diploma program to students.

The Director General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud), Mr. Nizam, said, “Currently, in developed countries, micro-credentials or specific competency enrichment are occurring. Micro-credentials are needed by the industrial world, especially in today’s digital industrial world. Competency needs will differ from existing competencies in the next 5 to 10 years. “Students must have ample space to enrich their competencies under their ideals, passions, and talents.”

The entire academic community of the Politeknik Negeri Batam campus would like to welcome you and welcome you to become Polybatam students. Happy learning to achieve your goals.
Greetings Polibatam
