Polibatam and Singapore Polytechnic Strengthen Collaboration through Global Knowledge Sharing 2026

BATAM – Politeknik Negeri Batam (Polibatam), in collaboration with the Polibatam English Club (PEC), welcomed a delegation from Singapore Polytechnic during the 2026 Polibatam and Singapore Polytechnic Global Knowledge Sharing event. The activity was held at Polibatam’s Technopreneur Building on Tuesday, 9 June 2026.

The event served as an international collaboration platform to introduce Polibatam as a vocational higher education institution that actively promotes innovation through the implementation of Project-Based Learning (PBL). It also provided students from Polibatam and Singapore Polytechnic with an opportunity to share learning experiences, exchange perspectives, and discuss innovations, particularly in electrical engineering and technology.

The programme began with a lunch session at the Batu Ampar Room on the second floor of the Technopreneur Building. The atmosphere became increasingly engaging through ice-breaking and mingling activities designed to encourage interaction and build stronger connections between students from both institutions.

The main session was then held in the Tanjung Piayu Room on the third floor of the Technopreneur Building. The programme was opened by the master of ceremonies and continued with welcoming remarks from Polibatam representatives, Irkham and Bambang. He Yingjie delivered the remarks on behalf of Singapore Polytechnic.

One of the main highlights of the event was the presentation and demonstration of a PBL project developed by students from Polibatam’s Robotics Engineering Technology Study Programme. During the session, the team showcased Barelang FC, one of Polibatam’s leading robotic innovations.

Barelang FC is a robot designed with the ability to play robotic football and is being prepared to participate in an upcoming competition in South Korea. The demonstration received an enthusiastic response from the students, lecturers, and members of the Polibatam academic community attending the event.

The interactive question-and-answer session demonstrated the participants’ strong interest in the robot’s development process, operating system, and the technologies implemented by Polibatam students. The session also provided an opportunity for participants to explore how PBL supports the development of innovative solutions and practical engineering competencies.

Through the 2026 Global Knowledge Sharing programme, students gained new insights into technological developments while strengthening their cross-cultural communication skills and international networks. Direct interaction among the students also encouraged the exchange of ideas, experiences, and learning practices within vocational education.

The activity is expected to further strengthen the relationship between Polibatam and Singapore Polytechnic while creating broader opportunities for future collaboration in education, applied research, innovation, and student competency development.

Greetings from Polibatam!
