The Animated Film “Ficusia” by Polibatam was Nominated for Best Short Animated Film at the Indonesian Film Festival (FFI) 2023

POLIBATAM-The animated film “Ficusia” by Politeknik Negeri Batam (Polibatam) was successfully nominated for the Best Short Animated Film at the Indonesian Film Festival/Festival Film Indonesia (FFI) 2023 on Saturday, 14 October 2023. The evening for the image trophy award will be held on Tuesday, 14 November 2023. This animated film was directed by Ahmad Saropi and produced by Selly Artaty Zega; both are Polibatam lecturers. This animated film tells about the dangers of drugs to the younger generation through the medium of animated films. The production of this film also collaborates with the Indonesian Cinderella Foundation in producing the animated series film entitled “Ficusia”. This film was produced in a series of 3 animated films involving more than 69 Batam State Polytechnic students with the learning concept of Project-Based Learning (PBL). This film has also been screened in various countries, namely Australia, America, Malaysia, Singapore and several European countries, on the Indonesian Cinderella Foundation tour to these various countries.

The Indonesian Film Festival (FFI) is an annual awards event to appreciate the work and work of Indonesian filmmakers, as well as celebrate the birth of Indonesian films that are increasingly at the forefront.

In 2023, the Indonesian Film Festival will have the theme CITRA Cup. CITRA means “shadow” or “image”, inspired by a poem by Usmar Ismail. CITRA is named the name of the Indonesian film award, which has been awarded since 1967 and has become a symbol of the highest supremacy of Indonesian cinema.
