SMP Muhammadiyah Plus Batam Students Discover Vocational Education through an Educational Visit to Polibatam

BATAM – Politeknik Negeri Batam (Polibatam) welcomed an educational visit from SMP Muhammadiyah Plus Batam on Monday, August 10, 2026. The visit was part of the school’s outing class and campus literacy program, involving 32 students accompanied by three teachers.

The visit began with a welcoming session and an introduction to Polibatam at the Auditorium of the Main Building. During the session, students received information about the campus environment, vocational education, study programs, learning facilities, and various student activities that support the development of competencies, creativity, and readiness for the professional world.

One of the highlights of the visit was a tour of Polibatam’s aviation facilities, particularly the aircraft hangar, which serves as one of the practical learning facilities in the aviation field. At the hangar, students had the opportunity to observe the hands-on learning environment and gain a better understanding of how vocational education integrates theoretical knowledge with practical experience using facilities that are relevant to industry needs.

Through this visit, the students are expected to gain new insights into vocational higher education while also developing an early understanding of various fields of expertise and future career opportunities. The activity also provided Polibatam with an opportunity to introduce younger generations to a campus environment closely connected with technology, hands-on practice, innovation, and industry.
