Polibatam Welcomes Ramadan 1447 H with Religious Gathering and Fellowship

BATAM – In anticipation of the holy month of Ramadan 1447 H, Politeknik Negeri Batam (Polibatam) held a religious gathering at the Auditorium of the Main Building, 2nd Floor, on Wednesday (18/02). The event, which began at 2:00 PM WIB, served as a meaningful occasion for the entire academic community to strengthen fellowship while preparing spiritually for the blessed month ahead.

The program commenced with opening remarks that inspired participants to welcome Ramadan with joy and enthusiasm. The speech emphasized that mental readiness and sincerity of heart are essential keys to attaining blessings throughout the holy month.

During the main session, Ustadz Drs. H. Junaidi Akbar delivered a profound religious lecture on the virtues of Ramadan. He reminded the audience of the message of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) that Ramadan is a month filled with immense blessings and special rewards for those who enliven it with righteous deeds. In his sermon, he encouraged the congregation not to waste this precious opportunity, as every moment in Ramadan holds tremendous spiritual value.

Uniquely, the religious atmosphere of the gathering was complemented by a concrete environmental initiative. In full support of Polibatam’s Zero Waste program, all attendees were seen bringing their own tumblers and reusable water bottles. This consistent effort reflects the institution’s commitment to reducing single-use plastic waste, while demonstrating that practicing religious values should go hand in hand with preserving the environment.
