Polibatam Strengthens Renewable Energy Competencies with PT Medco Power Indonesia and GIZ
BATAM – Politeknik Negeri Batam is scheduled to welcome a visit from PT Medco Power Indonesia and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) as part of the preparation for the Upskilling Initiatives for the Energy Transition in Indonesia program. This activity is related to the development of competencies in the field of renewable energy.
The visit is part of an effort to strengthen collaboration between vocational higher education, industry, and international partners in preparing human resources with competencies that meet the needs of the energy transition. As a vocational higher education institution, Polibatam continues to promote industry-based learning development, including in the field of renewable energy, which is increasingly relevant to global developments.
The planned agenda includes discussions on competencies and knowledge in renewable energy, discussions on training and upskilling program plans, as well as visits to laboratories and supporting learning facilities related to renewable energy at Polibatam.
The visit is scheduled to take place on Thursday, June 11, 2026, starting at 09.30 WIB until completion. Through this agenda, it is expected that a shared understanding can be established regarding competency needs, training program development opportunities, and potential collaborations to support the readiness of vocational talents in facing the energy transition era.
Polibatam welcomes this planned visit as part of strengthening the role of vocational higher education institutions in supporting human resource development in the renewable energy sector.
