POLIBATAM SHOWCASES LEADING PRODUCTS AND TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATIONS IN COLLABORATION BETWEEN BATAM CITY GOVERNMENT AND THE BUSINESS SECTOR

BATAM – Politeknik Negeri Batam (Polibatam) took part in the Batam City Government Collaboration with the Business and Industry Sector, which was held in conjunction with the launch of the Employment Information System (SIMNAKER) and the signing of a Joint Agreement between the Batam City Government and the Indonesian Employers Association (APINDO) Batam Chapter. The event took place on Friday, September 11, 2026, at Engku Hamidah Hall, 4th Floor of the Batam Mayor’s Office.

The event served as an important momentum to strengthen synergy among the government, business and industry sectors, and higher education institutions in supporting human resource development and the employment ecosystem in Batam. This cross-sector collaboration is expected to build stronger connections between workforce needs, competency development, and educational programs that remain relevant to the evolving demands of industry.

In his remarks, Batam Mayor H. Amsakar Achmad emphasized the importance of collaboration between the Batam City Government and the business and industry sectors in addressing various development needs, particularly in preparing competent human resources who are aligned with the demands of the labor market. The initiative also received support from Deputy Minister of Home Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Bima Arya Sugiarto, who attended the event.

In line with the spirit of collaboration, Polibatam also showcased a range of leading products and innovations developed by its academic community and students. The featured works included films and animation projects, robotics technology, and the Talent Cerdas Application. These innovations reflect Polibatam’s contribution to developing technology-based solutions while demonstrating the outcomes of learning, research, and innovation within vocational higher education.

Polibatam’s participation in the event further highlighted the important role of vocational higher education institutions as strategic partners of government and industry in human resource development and applied innovation. Through sustainable collaboration, Polibatam continues to encourage innovations created by its academic community to move beyond the campus and deliver tangible benefits to society, government, and industry.
