Polibatam Public Relations Participates in the 2026 Public Relations and Protocol Coordination Meeting to Strengthen the Role of Higher Education Communication in the Digital Era

JAKARTA – Politeknik Negeri Batam participated in the 2026 Public Relations and Protocol Coordination Meeting organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology at Universitas Indonesia, Jakarta. The event served as a strategic forum for public relations and protocol officers from higher education institutions to strengthen synergy, enhance competencies, and exchange best practices in managing public communication.

The coordination meeting was attended by approximately 350 participants, consisting of officials, public relations officers, and protocol staff from various universities and work units under the Ministry. Through this activity, participants received insights into institutional communication, protocol management, and strategies to build a positive image of higher education institutions amid the rapid development of the digital ecosystem.

The event was also held alongside the Socialization of the Diktisaintek Public Relations and Protocol Awards. This session was part of the Ministry’s efforts to encourage the improvement of public relations and protocol performance, while also recognizing innovation, creativity, and contributions in public communication within the higher education sector.

Acting Secretary General of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Badri Munir Sukoco, emphasized in his remarks that the rapid flow of digital information has made the role of public relations and protocol increasingly strategic. According to him, public relations and protocol are not only responsible for delivering information, but also play an important role in maintaining institutional reputation and serving as an information gateway for the public.

He further stated that higher education institutions across Indonesia have a major responsibility to communicate their achievements, programs, innovations, and positive impacts to society. Therefore, strengthening the capacity of human resources in public relations and protocol is essential so that each institution can deliver information in a timely, accurate, engaging, and meaningful manner.

Polibatam’s participation in this event reflects its commitment to continuously strengthening public communication governance and protocol services. Through this forum, Polibatam is expected to become more adaptive in presenting informative content, building institutional reputation, and supporting the realization of an impactful vocational higher education institution for society and industry.
