Polibatam Investment Gallery Promotes Investment Literacy Among SMKN 1 Tanjung Pinang Students Through Capital Market Education and Stock Simulation
TANJUNG PINANG – The Politeknik Negeri Batam (Polibatam) Investment Gallery conducted a community service program focused on improving capital market and investment literacy among young people at SMK Negeri 1 Tanjung Pinang on August 13–14, 2026. Led by the Head of the Polibatam Investment Gallery, Riyadi Aprayuda, together with the Investment Gallery team, the program reflected Polibatam’s commitment to broadening students’ understanding of safe, informed, and responsible investment practices.
Riyadi Aprayuda emphasized that the activity was part of an effort to foster a culture of financial literacy among the younger generation. He explained that investment knowledge should be introduced from an early stage so that students can develop a proper understanding of financial management.
“Investment literacy should be introduced while students are still in school so they can build a sound understanding of financial management. Investing is not only about generating returns, but also about understanding risks, conducting analysis, and making responsible decisions,” Riyadi said.
Over the two-day program, Grade XI students received introductory lessons on the capital market, the fundamentals of stock investment, and the role of accounting in investment decision-making. The students also participated in a group-based stock investment simulation using the Stock Rising game, which provided an interactive way to understand stock price movements and practice basic investment decision-making.
Through this activity, the Polibatam Investment Gallery hopes that students of SMK Negeri 1 Tanjung Pinang will gain a solid foundation in investment, understand both the opportunities and risks of the capital market, and become better prepared to face future economic challenges.
The community service program also represents a meaningful collaboration between higher education institutions and schools in building a sustainable financial education ecosystem for Indonesia’s younger generation.
Greetings from Polibatam!
