Polibatam Holds Inclusive Neurodiversity Education Program in Collaboration with City of Glasgow College
BATAM — Continuing its strong commitment to expanding international horizons and fostering an inclusive learning environment, Politeknik Negeri Batam (Polibatam) successfully organized the Global Entrepreneurship and Neurodiversity Education Program, held from January 19 to 30, 2026. This strategic program was the result of a strong collaboration with City of Glasgow College, Scotland.
The program featured Danilo Rigliaco, an academic from City of Glasgow College with a background in social sciences, as the main speaker. His participation offered fresh perspectives to the Polibatam academic community on integrating entrepreneurship concepts with a neurodiversity approach—an approach that values diverse learning styles and recognizes the unique potential of every individual.
Over the course of two weeks, participants consisting of lecturers and education staff were equipped with comprehensive materials covering quality culture enhancement, inclusive education, and the development of adaptive entrepreneurship curricula. Beyond theoretical discussions, the program also included interactive sessions and independent projects that challenged participants to design globally oriented learning practices while remaining responsive to the diverse needs of students.
Polibatam’s Vice Director I for Academic Affairs, Ahmad Riyad Firdaus, Ph.D., expressed his appreciation and strong support for the program. He emphasized that this international collaboration represents a concrete step by Polibatam in addressing the challenges of modern education.
“We are very proud to collaborate with City of Glasgow College. This program is not merely a training initiative, but a foundation for Polibatam to build an inclusive education ecosystem. We want to ensure that every student, with their unique ways of thinking, has equal opportunities to become innovative entrepreneurs. We hope that the knowledge shared by Danilo Rigliaco can be immediately implemented, so that our graduates are not only technically competent but also globally competitive with strong character,” said Ahmad Riyad Firdaus.

In addition to its academic focus, the program also served as a platform for strengthening cross-cultural understanding. The interaction between institutions from Batam and Scotland is expected to reinforce sustainable international collaboration networks, while positioning Polibatam as an institution that is adaptive to current global education issues.
With the successful completion of this program, Polibatam continues to move forward in strengthening human resource capacity to create innovative, inclusive, and globally competitive learning environments.
