Polibatam Encourages Academic Community to Prevent Bullying and Foster an Inclusive, Violence-Free Campus
BATAM – Politeknik Negeri Batam (Polibatam) continues to strengthen its commitment to creating a safe, comfortable, inclusive, and violence-free campus environment. Through the spirit of SALAM GEDSI, the entire Polibatam academic community is encouraged to work together to stop bullying practices in higher education.
Bullying is not merely a joke. It is a form of violence that may occur physically, verbally, socially, or digitally through cyberbullying. Such behavior may include intimidation, exclusion, humiliation, and repeated actions that degrade a person’s dignity, ultimately creating an unconducive learning environment.
Efforts to prevent and handle violence in higher education institutions are regulated under Ministerial Regulation of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Number 55 of 2024 concerning the Prevention and Handling of Violence in Higher Education Institutions. This regulation provides protection for campus community members, higher education leaders, and institutional partners from various forms of violence, including bullying, physical violence, psychological violence, sexual violence, discrimination, intolerance, and policy-based violence.
Bullying can have serious impacts on victims, affecting their self-integrity, mental health, and academic future. It may cause trauma, reduce self-confidence, disrupt the learning process, and threaten the continuity of study as well as the development of students’ and campus community members’ potential.
Through this campaign, Polibatam invites the entire academic community to build a culture of mutual respect, care, and appreciation for diversity. The campus must be a safe space for every individual to learn, create, collaborate, and develop their talents without fear of violence or bullying.
Polibatam also encourages all campus community members not to hesitate to report any acts of violence they experience, witness, or become aware of within the campus environment. Reports can be submitted through the PPKPT Task Force of Polibatam via the following link:

Reports may also be submitted through the Polibatam Helpdesk at:

Together, let us make Polibatam an inclusive, safe, equal, and violence-free campus.
Stop bullying now. Stop violence on campus. Salam GEDSI.
Warm Regards From Polibatam!
