Polibatam Director Leads the 78th Independence Day Ceremony of the Republic of Indonesia

POLIBATAM-Politeknik Negeri Batam held a ceremony to Commemorate the 78th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia on Thursday, 17 August 2023, in the courtyard of the main building of the Polibatam Campus. The ceremony took place at 07.30 WIB, attended by Polibatam academics and new students for the 2023/2024 academic year.

The ceremony began with the commander’s report to the ceremonial inspector, followed by hoisting of the red and white flag and the national anthem Indonesia Raya. Furthermore, all ceremony participants observed a moment of silence to commemorate the services of the fallen heroes led by the Director of Polibatam as the ceremony inspector. After that, it was followed by reading the proclamation’s text by the Inspector of Ceremonies, Director of Polibatam, Uuf Brajawidagda.

“Independence in learning we feel better with the movement for independent learning in educational work units. The community has also felt the transformation in various fields of education. Let’s simultaneously create independent learning to improve the quality of human resources in Indonesia,” said Uuf.

Next, the reading of the manuscript of the 1945 Constitution was carried out, followed by the reading of the Polibatam student pledge. The event continued with awarding the Satyalancana Karya Satya Award from President Joko Widodo to ASN at the Polibatam campus, who had served for ten years. The ceremony was continued with the mandate of the ceremonial inspector. In his address, the Director conveyed the text of the mandate for the 78th Indonesian Independence Day ceremony under the Minister of Education and Culture.

The following process is reading the prayer and singing the national anthem. After the 78th Independence Day Commemoration Ceremony was over, it was followed by a series of activities to celebrate the 78th Indonesian Independence Day with a contest and selection of the best traditional attire or clothes worn by Polibatam employees.

Hopefully, with the Commemoration of the 78th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence, the spirit of nationalism will become more prominent and can fill independence according to our competence.
