Polibatam Delegation Wins 11 Medals at the 2026 FIRA RoboWorld Cup in Malaysia

BATAM – Another proud achievement has been recorded by students of Politeknik Negeri Batam (Polibatam) on the international stage. The Polibatam delegation successfully earned a series of awards at the 2026 FIRA RoboWorld Cup, held in Kelantan, Malaysia, from 6 to 12 June 2026.

At the international robotics competition, Polibatam sent six students accompanied by their supervisor, Eko Rudiawan. Through thorough preparation, strong technical skills, determination, and solid teamwork, the delegation successfully brought home a total of 11 medals, consisting of two gold medals and nine silver medals.

The achievements recorded by the Polibatam delegation included:

  • HUROCUP Mobility – Gold Medal
  • HUROCUP Manipulation – Silver Medal
  • HUROCUP Hybrid – Silver Medal
  • HUROCUP Kid Weightlifting – Silver Medal
  • HUROCUP Kid Penalty Kick – Silver Medal
  • HUROCUP Kid Basketball – Silver Medal
  • HUROCUP Kid Sprint – Silver Medal
  • HUROCUP Kid Marathon – Gold Medal
  • HUROCUP Kid Lift and Carry – Silver Medal

The achievement demonstrates the ability of Polibatam students to develop and apply robotics technology in various competitive challenges. Each category tested different capabilities, including robot mobility, object manipulation, speed, accuracy, and the ability to complete assigned tasks autonomously.

This accomplishment also proves that Polibatam students are capable of competing at the international level, particularly in robotics, engineering technology, and innovation. It reflects the outcomes of Polibatam’s vocational education, which emphasizes practical learning, project-based activities, creativity, and problem-solving skills in response to technological developments.

Through the implementation of Project-Based Learning, students are not only equipped with technical competencies but are also encouraged to develop effective strategies, teamwork, adaptability, and mental resilience when facing global competition.

Polibatam’s participation in the 2026 FIRA RoboWorld Cup also provided students with an opportunity to assess their competencies, exchange experiences, and broaden their perspectives alongside participants from various countries. This experience is expected to inspire the development of more advanced robotics innovations that can benefit society and industry.
