Polibatam Bahari Wins 2nd Place at the Regional Astra Honda SDGs Future Leaders 2026 through SEABLOCK Innovation

BATAM – Students of Politeknik Negeri Batam (Polibatam) have once again achieved a proud accomplishment. Polibatam Bahari Team won 2nd Place at the Regional Astra Honda SDGs Future Leaders 2026 through its innovation, SEABLOCK, a product that transforms marine waste into paving blocks with practical, economic, and environmental value.

SEABLOCK was developed as a form of student concern for the issue of marine waste, which remains a major challenge in coastal and island areas. Through this innovation, marine waste that could potentially pollute the environment is processed into an alternative material that supports sustainable development.

The Polibatam Bahari Team consists of Hytrikh Rotsyanshah Alkhair, Dea Santa Nainggolan, Maharani Azra, Vina Melinda Sukma Sari, Rendi Rahmat Saputra, Bima Pratama, and Muhamad Agum Prasetyo. Throughout the development and competition process, the team was supervised by Tian Havwini as the academic advisor.

This achievement proves that Polibatam students are capable of presenting creative and applicable solutions to environmental issues. Through SEABLOCK, the students not only demonstrated their ability to innovate but also contributed to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in environmental management and sustainable development.

Vice Director III of Polibatam, Muhammad Zaenuddin, expressed his appreciation for the achievement of the Polibatam Bahari Team.

“Thank you to the Polibatam Bahari Team and the academic advisor for bringing pride to Polibatam through the SEABLOCK innovation. This achievement proves that Polibatam students are able to respond to environmental challenges with real, creative, and impactful solutions. Hopefully, this accomplishment will inspire other students to continue innovating, achieving excellence, and contributing positively to society and the environment,” said Muhammad Zaenuddin.

Polibatam hopes that this achievement will become an important step toward the broader development of sustainable innovations, especially in marine waste management. This accomplishment also strengthens the role of students as agents of change who are able to provide real solutions for society, the environment, and a better future.

Greetings from Polibatam!
