PERURI Benchmarks Chip Technology at Polibatam, Advancing Semiconductor Research and Development Collaboration
BATAM – Politeknik Negeri Batam (Polibatam) welcomed a delegation from Perum Percetakan Uang Republik Indonesia (PERURI) for a benchmarking visit and technical discussion on chip technology on Thursday, 23 July 2026, at Polibatam’s Main Building. The visit aimed to gain deeper insights into Polibatam’s capabilities, laboratory facilities, and technological developments related to chip fabrication, packaging, testing, and development.
During the meeting, Polibatam presented its progress in developing human resources and applied research within the semiconductor industry ecosystem. These efforts are supported through Project-Based Learning (PBL), industry internship programmes, professional competency certification, and strengthened collaboration between higher education institutions and industry. Polibatam also highlighted its capabilities in IC packaging, PCB manufacturing and assembly, electronic testing, IC design, and semiconductor technology research through the Teaching Factory of Manufacturing Electronics.
PERURI expressed its interest in pursuing further collaboration, particularly in supporting chip design and development, implementing industry-based case learning, and providing internship opportunities for Polibatam students. Polibatam welcomed these opportunities and affirmed its readiness to contribute through multidisciplinary expertise in semiconductors, informatics, animation, business management, and mechanical engineering.

The visit is expected to serve as an important first step in strengthening collaboration between higher education institutions and state-owned enterprises. This partnership is envisioned to advance applied research, develop highly skilled talent, support national technological independence, and contribute to the growth of Indonesia’s semiconductor industry ecosystem.
Greetings from Polibatam!
