FDPNI Holds National Working Meeting at Polibatam, Strengthening Vocational Education–Industry Synergy

Batam – The Forum Direktur Politeknik Negeri Indonesia (FDPNI), together with the Chairs of Dharma Wanita from State Polytechnics and State Community Academies (AKN) across Indonesia, held a National Working and Coordination Meeting at Politeknik Negeri Batam (Polibatam) on Thursday (12/2/2026). The event marked a strategic momentum to strengthen national collaboration in vocational education while aligning it with the evolving needs of industry.

On this occasion, BP Batam was represented by its Deputy for Investment and Business Development, Fary Francis, who delivered the keynote address. In his presentation, he emphasized BP Batam’s full support for the advancement of vocational education as a means of enhancing the quality of human resources who are job-ready and globally competitive.

He highlighted that vocational education plays a crucial role in preparing graduates who are not only academically grounded but also equipped with practical competencies relevant to industry demands. According to him, strong synergy between vocational higher education institutions and industry is key to addressing economic growth challenges, particularly in strategic regions such as Batam.

In his welcoming remarks, the Director of Polibatam, Ir. Bambang Hendrawan, ST., MSM., CIPMP., CISCP., IPM., expressed his appreciation to BP Batam for its support and the presence of Fary Francis and his delegation. He encouraged all stakeholders to continue strengthening collaboration.

“Let us continue to collaborate and synergize in transforming Batam into a region with increasing investment and productivity, equitable and sustainable economic growth, and declining unemployment rates toward a more prosperous society,” he stated.

The FDPNI Working Meeting at Polibatam also addressed the rapid industrial growth in Batam, which demands a skilled, adaptive workforce ready to face technological transformation. Through this forum, strategic initiatives are expected to emerge, further reinforcing the role of vocational education in supporting national economic development.

In addition to the working meeting at Polibatam, FDPNI conducted an official visit to Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) as part of its efforts to expand regional collaboration. The visit aimed to strengthen international networks, exchange best practices, and develop a vocational education ecosystem aligned with global industry dynamics.
