Customer Experience Center and LiuGong Public Lecture Mark New Step for Polibatam in Strengthening Industry Link and Match

BATAM – Politeknik Negeri Batam (Polibatam) welcomed a visit from PT LiuGong Machinery Indonesia as part of a collaboration meeting on the development of a Customer Experience Center and the implementation of the LiuGong Public Lecture on Thursday, June 25, 2026.

The activity began with a collaboration meeting held in Room 301, Main Building of Polibatam. The meeting was attended by Polibatam management, representatives from related departments, Polibatam CDC or Career Center, as well as representatives from PT LiuGong Machinery Indonesia and supporting partners. The discussion focused on talent development collaboration opportunities, heavy equipment industry needs, training programs, and plans to strengthen industry-based facilities within the campus environment.

During the discussion, Leticia, Senior HR of LiuGong, stated that LiuGong is interested in recruiting talents from the fields of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, heavy equipment, and other relevant fields. She also shared plans to send lecturers from Liuzhou Polytechnic University (LZPU) to Polibatam in mid-August, as well as plans to send Polibatam lecturers to Jakarta to participate in a Training of Trainers program with LiuGong.

“LiuGong sees strong talent potential from Polibatam, particularly in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and heavy equipment. We are also open to other fields that can support industry needs,” said Leticia.

In addition, the meeting also discussed a program plan for fifth-semester students, which is scheduled to begin on August 1, as well as opportunities for students to depart for LZPU in 2027. This program is expected to strengthen students’ international exposure while preparing graduates who are adaptive to the needs of the global industry.

Justina Qin from PT Lingnan International Education also encouraged students to become more actively interested in learning Mandarin as a foundation for communication and international career development. According to her, language skills are an important added value for students who wish to be involved in cross-border collaboration programs.

“Students need to start building an interest in Mandarin, because language skills can open up more opportunities in the global workplace,” said Justina Qin.

Sahdan Fikri, Aftersales Director of LiuGong Indonesia, stated that this collaboration would continue to be adjusted to the needs of both parties, including identifying forms of support that LiuGong can provide to Polibatam. He also highlighted the importance of designing programs that are well-targeted, both in strengthening technical competencies and developing language skills.

“This collaboration will be adjusted according to our shared needs. We will look at what LiuGong can support, including how the Mandarin language program can be made more accessible and aligned with campus needs,” said Sahdan Fikri.

Polibatam Director, Bambang Hendrawan, welcomed the collaboration opportunity. Polibatam has prepared two potential locations for the Customer Experience Center, namely the W7 area or the first floor of the TRAIN Building. The presence of this facility is expected to become a space for technology introduction, competency strengthening, and a bridge for collaboration between the campus and industry.

“We welcome this collaboration. Polibatam is ready to support the development of the Customer Experience Center and has prepared several location options that can be adjusted to the needs of the program,” said Bambang Hendrawan.

After the discussion session, the delegation continued the activity with a visit to laboratories and potential Customer Experience Center locations. This visit was part of the facility mapping and technical readiness process to support future collaboration plans.

In the afternoon, the activity continued with the LiuGong Public Lecture at the Auditorium, Main Building, 2nd Floor of Polibatam. The public lecture featured several sessions, including Company Profile & Business Overview by Sahdan Fikri and Daniel Prayoga, Career & Culture in LiuGong Indonesia by Karina Nastasia and IG Windaryanto, and Mandarin Language Program by Justina Qin.

Through this activity, students gained direct insights into the company profile, workplace culture, career opportunities, heavy equipment industry needs, and the importance of language readiness and global competencies. This activity also reflects Polibatam’s concrete commitment to providing learning experiences that are closely connected to industry, while opening impactful collaboration opportunities for students, lecturers, and partners.
