Barelang Marine Robotics Team of Polibatam Wins Awards at the 2026 International Solar Aerial Vehicle Competition in Malaysia

MALAYSIA – Another proud achievement has been made by students of Politeknik Negeri Batam (Polibatam). The Barelang Marine Robotics Team successfully won awards at the 4th International Solar Aerial Vehicle Competition 2026, held at Politeknik Jeli, Kelantan, Malaysia.

This international competition serves as a platform for students to showcase their capabilities in developing solar-powered aerial vehicle technology. Through this event, participants were challenged to present innovations that excel not only in design and technology, but also in energy efficiency, sustainability, and the application of future-oriented technology.

The Polibatam delegation consisted of students from the Robotics Engineering Technology Study Program, namely Divo Setyawan, Dayang Nabila, and Muhamad Isra Saputra, under the supervision of Ryan Satria Wijaya. Through hard work, strong collaboration, and thorough preparation, the Barelang Marine Robotics Team achieved two remarkable awards: Second Place Design Solar Drone and Second Runner-Up SAVe 2026 Competition.

This achievement proves that Polibatam students are capable of competing at the international level, particularly in robotics, engineering technology, and sustainable energy innovation. It also reflects how Polibatam’s practice-based and project-based learning approach encourages students to produce innovative, applicable, and globally relevant works.

Participation in this international competition provided valuable experience for the students, from idea development, system design, and technology testing to teamwork and adaptation in a global competition environment.
