Barelang FC Polibatam Ready to Compete in RoboCup Humanoid League 2026 in South Korea

BATAM – The proud robotics team of Politeknik Negeri Batam (Polibatam), Barelang FC, has once again brought remarkable news. The team has successfully passed the qualification stage and is ready to compete in the international RoboCup Humanoid League 2026 Small Division, which will take place in Incheon, South Korea.

This achievement marks an important milestone for Polibatam, as Barelang FC will compete alongside strong robotics teams from various countries, including China, Germany, South Korea, Brazil, and other nations. This participation also demonstrates that innovations developed by Indonesian vocational students are capable of reaching the global robotics competition stage.

Barelang FC’s journey to RoboCup 2026 has been guided by Eko Rudiawan Jamzuri, a lecturer from the Robotics Engineering Technology Study Program at Polibatam. Together with a team of students from different academic cohorts, Barelang FC successfully passed a rigorous technical selection process and was declared qualified to compete at the international level.

The Barelang FC team consists of students from the Robotics Engineering Technology and Mechatronics Engineering study programs, namely Valdhy Alzikri, Abdullah Putra, Senta Situmorang, Besli Pakpahan, I Putu Angga, Muhammad Akbar, Dedek Mulyadi, and Adib Pratama.

This year’s competition presents a major challenge, especially with the rapid development of artificial intelligence, real-time control, vision systems, and increasingly advanced humanoid robot game strategies. However, collaboration among students within the team has become an important strength in developing sustainable, dynamic, and competitive research.

Currently, Barelang FC is undergoing intensive preparation at Polibatam’s robotics laboratory. The team continues to refine the robot movement algorithms, vision systems, motion control, and game strategies to ensure optimal performance in South Korea.

Barelang FC’s participation in the RoboCup Humanoid League 2026 is clear evidence that Project-Based Learning (PBL) at Polibatam is able to encourage students to produce technological innovations that are competitive at the international level. Through this achievement, Polibatam continues to strengthen its role as a vocational campus that supports the development of technology talents, applied research, and impactful student innovation.
