Polibatam Supports Creative Economy Development through Batam City Creative Hub for App Talent (CHAT) Activation

BATAM — Batam State Polytechnic (Polibatam) hosted the Creative Hub for App Talent (CHAT) Activation in Batam City on Tuesday, 20 October 2026. The event formed part of efforts to advance the creative economy by developing talent, harnessing technology, and encouraging collaboration among stakeholders.

In his remarks, Husni Naparin, Head of the Payment System Policy Implementation Team at Bank Indonesia’s Riau Islands Province Office, highlighted the importance of building a digital ecosystem that encourages creativity and innovation. He noted that technology should be used productively to create added value. Collaboration among the government, universities, industry, and communities is therefore essential to preparing talent to adapt to economic developments and digital transformation.

Ujang Priono, Head of the Application Marketing and Commercialization Subdirectorate at the Directorate of Applications, also emphasized the need to support digital products beyond the development stage. Applications and other digital works need opportunities to reach the public, gain wider adoption, and be commercialized. This can help ensure that they address user needs and have room to grow.

The CHAT Activation provided a space for creative economy stakeholders to exchange ideas, share experiences, and build professional connections. Participants also had the opportunity to explore ways to develop applications and digital products, including by responding to industry needs.

As the event’s host institution, Polibatam supports collaborative initiatives that bring together education, industry, government, and communities. Such partnerships are expected to strengthen the capabilities of creative talent in Batam and encourage the development of innovative, useful, and competitive digital products.

Salam Polibatam!
