Strengthening Industry Synergy, Polibatam Holds Initial Cooperation Meeting with PT Mess and Huawei
BATAM — Politeknik Negeri Batam (Polibatam) continues to expand its strategic collaboration with industry. As part of this effort, Polibatam held an initial cooperation meeting with representatives of PT Mess and Huawei on Tuesday, 20 October 2026. The meeting took place at the Priyono Eko Sanyoto Building and was attended by Polibatam’s leadership and representatives from its work units.
Beginning at 9:30 a.m. Western Indonesian Time, the meeting provided an opportunity for the participants to exchange views on potential collaboration between higher education and industry. The discussion covered several areas that could be developed together, particularly those supporting student learning and competency development in line with evolving workplace needs.
One of the topics discussed was the development of curricula that reflect industry needs. Collaboration with industry partners can help higher education institutions keep learning materials relevant to technological developments, changing competency requirements, and workplace dynamics. This can help equip students with applicable knowledge and skills.
The meeting also explored potential student internship programs. Industry-based learning experiences can give students the opportunity to observe workplace practices, apply what they have learned, and develop professional skills. Any future program can be tailored to the needs and agreements of the parties involved.
In addition to education and internships, the participants discussed opportunities for joint research and technological innovation. This collaboration could provide a platform for the university and industry partners to exchange knowledge and identify issues that may be developed into research or innovation initiatives.
The initial meeting marked the first step in exploring potential forms of partnership between Polibatam, PT Mess, and Huawei. Through stronger industry collaboration, Polibatam aims to reinforce the connection between vocational education and workplace needs, while supporting human resource development and preparing graduates to meet global challenges.
Polibatam Greetings!
