Polibatam Testing Days 2026: A Platform for Testing Student-Developed Games through Project-Based Learning
BATAM – The Game Technology Study Program at Politeknik Negeri Batam (Polibatam) once again held Testing Days from 13 to 15 July 2026 at the lobby of Polibatam’s Main Building. Organised every semester, the event provides students with a platform to test, showcase, and receive feedback on games developed through Project-Based Learning (PBL).
During the second semester of the 2025/2026 academic year, Game Technology students successfully developed 30 games, consisting of 23 two-dimensional games created by second-semester students and seven three-dimensional games created by fourth-semester students. Visitors were able to play and directly test the games throughout the three-day event.
Testing Days serves not only as an exhibition of student work but also as an essential stage in the game-development process. Through direct interaction with users, students received valuable feedback on gameplay mechanics, visual design, storylines, usability, and the overall gaming experience. The feedback will be used to further refine and improve the games they have developed.
This semester’s Testing Days was made even more special through a collaboration with Game Developer Batam as part of the “Game is Loading Bootcamp.” The month-long programme was conducted in partnership with Polibatam’s Game Technology Study Program and involved several students in a series of game-development training and project activities.
The event was further enlivened by the participation of the Batam Board Game Community, which provided a dedicated board game area for visitors. The community’s involvement introduced visitors to various tabletop games while helping to strengthen networks and expand Batam’s growing game-development ecosystem.

Testing Days also welcomed visitors from various institutions and communities, including representatives from the Apple Developer Academy @ Infinite Learning, mentors and participants from The Games Institute, lecturers from the Batam Institute of Technology (ITEBA), and Polibatam students. The presence of industry practitioners, academics, communities, and visitors provided students with opportunities to expand their networks and gain broader perspectives on developments within the gaming industry.
Through Testing Days, Polibatam continues to encourage students to innovate, test their ideas, respond positively to feedback, and produce creative games that are relevant to industry needs. The event also reflects Polibatam’s commitment to providing applied, collaborative, and industry-oriented vocational education that supports the development of the digital creative sector.
Warm greetings from Polibatam!
