Strategic Synergy: PoliBatam and the Riau Islands Regional Office of BPN Establish Cooperation in the Development of Agrarian Technology and Human Resources

BATAM – Held in Meeting Room 301, Main Building of Polibatam, an important ceremony took place marking the collaboration between the education sector and a government institution. On Thursday, 5 February 2026, the Regional Office of BPN of the Riau Islands Province officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Politeknik Negeri Batam concerning the development of science, technology, and human resources in the fields of agrarian affairs and spatial planning.

The event was attended by key leaders from both institutions, including the Director of Politeknik Negeri Batam, Bambang Hendrawan, and the Head of the Regional Office of BPN of the Riau Islands Province, Nurus Sholichin. Also present at the meeting were the Head of Administration of the Regional Office of BPN of the Riau Islands Province, Ichsan Wibawa; the Head of Survey and Mapping Division, Trika Cipta Utama; and the Head of the Batam City Land Office (BPN), Kamaruddin.

In his remarks, Bambang Hendrawan stated that this collaboration is a concrete step in supporting regional innovation. “This cooperation serves as a bridge for our academic community to contribute directly to the development of technology and the enhancement of human resource capacity relevant to the needs of the agrarian sector. We are committed to supporting land digitalization for the advancement of the Riau Islands,” said Bambang Hendrawan.

Nurus Sholichin also emphasized the importance of modernizing services through this strategic partnership. “Through synergy with Politeknik Negeri Batam, we hope for knowledge transfer that can optimize spatial planning and the handling of agrarian matters in the Riau Islands. Strengthening technology-based human resources is the key to realizing professional and trustworthy services,” affirmed Nurus Sholichin.

The main agenda of the event was the signing of the MoU and MoA documents by both leaders, followed by an exchange of souvenirs and a group photo session. In addition, a brief presentation on the scope of cooperation was delivered by Trika Cipta Utama, covering technical aspects of mapping as well as employee capacity development. The informal discussion that concluded the event reflected strong optimism that this collaboration will bring positive impacts to the quality of land services for the wider community in the Riau Islands.
