Polibatam Welcomes Visit from Indonesia’s Ministry of Finance to Discuss the Strengthening of National Semiconductor Industry Talent

BATAM – Politeknik Negeri Batam (Polibatam) received a study visit from the Directorate of Productivity Strategy and Economic Growth, Directorate General of Economic and Fiscal Strategy, Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia, on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.

The visit was warmly welcomed by the Director of Politeknik Negeri Batam, Mr. Bambang Hendrawan, together with the Polibatam Electronics Team. This activity was part of an in-depth strategic study on accelerating the national semiconductor industry ecosystem, particularly in the areas of innovation processes, supply chains, and the development of technical talent in the field.

During the visit, the delegation held discussions with Polibatam on strategies to strengthen human resources for the semiconductor industry. The delegation also visited several laboratories and educational facilities that support competency development in electronics and semiconductor technology.

Through this visit, Polibatam highlighted the important role of vocational higher education in preparing technical talent that is relevant to the needs of future industries. By implementing practice-based, project-based, and industry-collaborative learning, Polibatam continues to strengthen its commitment to supporting the development of Indonesia’s national semiconductor ecosystem.

This activity is expected to contribute to joint efforts in formulating effective policy recommendations to enhance the competitiveness of Indonesia’s semiconductor industry.
