Polibatam Launches CIT Training Program to Equip Students with Energy Competencies and Global Exposure

BATAM — Politeknik Negeri Batam (Polibatam) has once again reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening international collaboration in the field of vocational education and human resource development through the opening of the CIT Training Program, which was held today starting at 9:45 a.m. WIB until completion. This program is a follow-up to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in China in September 2025 and is designed to support the demand for skilled labor, particularly for PT CCEPC in Batam.

The opening ceremony was attended by Polibatam’s leadership and strategic partners, including Bambang Hendrawan, Director of Politeknik Negeri Batam; Indra Hardian Mulyadi, Head of Department at Polibatam; Hasnira, Polibatam Coordinator for the CIT Training Program; as well as international partner delegates from Changjiang Institute of Technology (CIT), namely Li Jiakun, Professor and Dean of the School of Energy; Wang Feng, Associate Professor; and Luo Shisheng, Associate Professor and Director of the English Teaching and Research Office. Wahyu Widyasari Sandhy was also present as a representative of HOPE International.

The series of opening events began with a speech from the Director of Polibatam, who emphasized the importance of the program as a concrete form of the internationalization of vocational education. In his remarks, the Director of Polibatam expressed full support for the implementation of the CIT Training Program.

“Polibatam fully supports this training program as part of efforts to enhance the global competencies of vocational students. Through international collaboration such as this, we aim to ensure that Polibatam graduates are not only ready to work domestically but are also able to adapt and compete in a global environment,” said Bambang Hendrawan.

Representatives from HOPE International and Changjiang Institute of Technology (CIT) also expressed their appreciation for the established synergy, while reaffirming their shared commitment to preparing vocational talents that meet the needs of the energy and power generation industries. The opening ceremony was then concluded with a group photo session as a symbol of strengthened cooperation.

The CIT Training Program is designed as an intensive two-week training program attended by students from the Power Generation Engineering, Mechatronics, and Electrical Engineering Technology study programs. Notably, the training is conducted during the academic holiday period, demonstrating the strong commitment of both the institution and the students to competency development. The program is expected to result in competency certificates as well as course recognition that can be acknowledged within the academic process.

The training materials will be delivered directly by experts from international partners, namely Li Jiakun as Dean of the School of Energy, Wang Feng as a lecturer and instructor in electrical engineering, and Luo Shisheng as a Mandarin language instructor. In addition to technical skills, students are also equipped with language proficiency and cultural understanding as preparation for learning activities and potential further study in China.

Through the implementation of the CIT Training Program, Polibatam hopes to introduce an integrated vocational human resource development model involving academia, industry, and international partners. This program also represents a strategic step by Polibatam in producing graduates who are competent, adaptive, and ready to contribute to the global industrial ecosystem, particularly in the energy and technology sectors.
