Polibatam Director and Vice Directors Strengthen Ties with the President of PII and the Chair of PMI Batam

Batam – Politeknik Negeri Batam (Polibatam) continues to strengthen its strategic collaboration network through a courtesy meeting with the President of the Persatuan Insinyur Indonesia (PII), Dr.-Ing. Ir. Ilham Akbar Habibie, MBA., IPU., ASEAN Eng., as well as a respected Batam community leader, Eyang Sri Soedarsono, Chair of Yayasan Keluarga Batam (YKB), founder of RS Budi Kemulyaan and Sekolah Kartini, who also serves as Chair of the Palang Merah Indonesia (PMI) Batam for the 2025–2030 term.

The gathering coincided with a series of important academic events, including the 7th Engineer Professional Oath Ceremony and the Inaugural Lecture for the 8th Cohort of the Engineer Professional Program (PSPPI) at Polibatam. This occasion served as a meaningful reflection on the role of engineers in upholding professional ethics, engineering responsibilities, and making tangible contributions to society and sustainable development.

The event was attended directly by the Director of Polibatam, Ir. Bambang Hendrawan, accompanied by Vice Director II Arniati, Ph.D., Vice Director III Dr. Muhammad Zaenuddin, and AMTO Accountable Manager Dr. Ir. Priyono Eko Sanyoto, DEA., IPU. The meeting was conducted in a warm and productive atmosphere, reaffirming the importance of synergy among educational institutions, professional organizations, and social institutions.

As part of the academic agenda, Polibatam also invited a distinguished national and international speaker, Dr. Ir. Teguh Haryono, MBA., IPU., ACPE., ASEAN Eng., APEC Eng., Secretary General of PII (2024–2027), who delivered a lecture titled “The Strategic Role of Engineers in Disaster Mitigation Due to Forest Degradation in Indonesia.” The presentation highlighted the critical contribution of engineering expertise in addressing environmental and disaster-related challenges.
