Polibatam and Russia’s SPUTNIX Forge Strategic Collaboration in Advancing National Aerospace Development

SURABAYA – Politeknik Negeri Batam (Polibatam) has officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Russian satellite technology company Limited Liability Company “SPUTNIX” (LLC SPUTNIX)/AFK Sistema, aimed at strengthening Indonesia’s research, science, and technology ecosystem in the aerospace sector.

The signing ceremony took place on Thursday, 20 November 2025, from 14:30 to 16:30 WIB, at Room 801, Education Building, Rectorate of Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA). The event was facilitated by the Directorate for Talent Development in Science and Technology as part of its initiative to promote international collaboration between Indonesian higher education institutions and leading global strategic technology industries.

Polibatam participated alongside several university leaders and delivered a testimonial during the main session. The agenda included an opening ceremony, the singing of the Indonesian national anthem, testimonials from university leaders, the signing ceremony, a program presentation by SPUTNIX, a technical discussion with the SPUTNIX team including representatives from Russia, and a group photo session.

This collaboration aims to:

  • Promote the development of satellite technology and space systems;
  • Explore research and innovation opportunities in the aerospace field;
  • Open access to knowledge exchange and capacity building for science and technology talent;
  • Build prospects for international academic–industry collaboration.

The Director of Polibatam emphasized the institution’s commitment to contributing actively to the advancement of national strategic technologies through the development of highly skilled vocational talents.

“This collaboration marks a significant step for Polibatam in expanding its research scope in satellite technology and space systems. We are ready to synergize with SPUTNIX to deliver practical and innovative solutions, while preparing competent vocational human resources to support the future aerospace industry,” he stated.
