PBL TRPL Polibatam Exhibition and Demo Day: Evaluating the Implementation of Project-Based Learning and Cross-Semester Student Collaboration

BATAM — The Software Engineering Technology Study Program (TRPL) of Politeknik Negeri Batam (Polibatam) held the PBL TRPL Exhibition and Demo Day as part of the evaluation of the implementation of Project-Based Learning (PBL). The event took place on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, from 08:30 to 16:00 WIB at the Auditorium of Polibatam’s Main Building.

The exhibition and demo day involved students from various semesters. Fifteen teams of first-year students showcased 15 web-based applications with the theme of Community Administration. Meanwhile, fifteen teams of third-year students presented mobile-based applications, and twelve teams of fifth-year students shared the results of Market Validation from their developed PBL projects.

All projects were presented openly through demo and exhibition sessions, providing students with opportunities to practice their presentation skills, communication abilities, and accountability for the projects they worked on as teams. This event also served as a platform for cross-semester learning, highlighting the continuity of PBL learning outcomes from the early semesters to advanced levels.

The PBL TRPL Exhibition and Demo Day was organized by the Coordinator of the Software Engineering Technology Study Program as an evaluative moment for PBL learning, as well as a collaborative space for cross-semester development of ideas and technology-based solutions. Through this event, students were encouraged to understand the comprehensive software development process, from design and implementation to market validation.

Through the successful execution of the PBL TRPL Exhibition and Demo Day, Polibatam reaffirms its commitment to providing vocational education that is practice-based, relevant, collaborative, and adaptive to industry needs. This event also strengthens students’ competencies in software engineering and encourages the emergence of young technopreneurs ready to compete in the digital era.
