From Underwater Robotics to English Championship, Polibatam is Ready to Compete!
BATAM – Politeknik Negeri Batam (Polibatam) is once again sending its top students to compete on international and national stages through two prestigious events: the Singapore Autonomous Underwater Vehicle Challenge (SAUVC) and the Indonesian Polytechnic English Championship (IPEC) 2026.
In the SAUVC, six Polibatam students will participate in the international underwater robotics competition held in China from May 25 to June 2, 2026. The delegation will be guided by Ryan Satria Wijaya, S.Tr.T., M.Tr.T. This competition provides a platform for students to test their skills in robotics, control systems, underwater technology, and the application of engineering-based innovations relevant to global challenges.
Beyond technology, Polibatam will also compete in the Indonesian Polytechnic English Championship (IPEC), scheduled in Surabaya from June 3–5, 2026. Five Polibatam students will represent the campus in this national-level English competition for polytechnics, accompanied by mentor Tian Havwini, S.Si., M.A. The event offers students an opportunity to hone their communication skills, critical thinking, confidence, and competitiveness within the academic community.
The participation of Polibatam students in these two competitions demonstrates the university’s commitment to nurturing student potential in technology, innovation, and global communication. Through the spirit of Problem/Project-Based Learning (PBL) and hands-on practice, Polibatam continuously encourages students to take the stage, compete, and uphold the university’s reputation at national and international levels.
