Farewell to Our Teacher, Mr Eko
BATAM – The entire academic community of Politeknik Negeri Batam expresses its deepest condolences on the passing of our respected elder, our father figure, and our teacher, Dr. Ir. Priyono Eko Sanyoto, DEA, IPU, who passed away in the morning at Bhayangkara Hospital, Batam. His departure leaves profound sorrow, not only for his family, but also for all of us at Politeknik Negeri Batam, his colleagues, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing and experiencing his dedication.
The late Pak Eko was widely known as a leader of high integrity, dedication, and remarkable contributions in the fields of knowledge and community service. With a strong academic background as a doctor and engineer, he shared valuable insights, experiences, and exemplary conduct throughout his professional life. His perseverance, commitment, and passion for sharing knowledge became an inspiration to many around him.
During his lifetime, in addition to serving as a permanent lecturer in Mechanical Engineering at ITB, he actively dedicated the past 25 years to advancing polytechnic education in Indonesia. He led Politeknik Batam from its early days as a private institution in 2001 until its transformation into a state polytechnic, serving as Director from 2001 to 2020. He was not only known for his intelligence and professionalism, but also for his humility, compassion, and strong commitment to the values of togetherness. He consistently instilled the importance of hard work, honesty, and responsibility in every aspect of life, both professionally and socially.
May all his good deeds and acts of worship be accepted by Allah SWT, his shortcomings be forgiven, and may he be granted the best place by His side. May the family he leaves behind be given strength, patience, and sincerity in facing this difficult time.
