A Story of Perseverance: Mr Eko Journey that Became a Source of Pride
BATAM – The journey of Politeknik Batam, from being under the Batam Authority to becoming Politeknik Negeri Batam, is a story of perseverance that gradually transformed into pride. From its humble beginnings with only three study programs, the institution grew amidst various limitations. Behind this development stood a figure who devoted nearly two decades of his life with unwavering dedication: Dr. Eko Priyono. For 19 years, he did not only build academic systems, but also instilled vision, discipline, and spirit within the entire academic community.
Today, Politeknik Batam stands as a progressive institution, with diverse study programs and a strengthening reputation—clear evidence of a long journey of wholehearted dedication.
Now, as the time comes to bid him farewell, there is a deep sense of sorrow that is difficult to put into words. Losing a figure who has been part of the heartbeat of the campus leaves a space that is not easily replaced. Yet, at the same time, there is immense pride—that his legacy has shaped the future of many and elevated this institution to greater heights. Letting go does not mean forgetting, for every corner of Politeknik Batam’s progress will always carry the story of his struggle and sacrifice.
A farewell that is filled with sadness, yet also with profound respect and gratitude.
