Managerial Accounting Students of Polibatam Win 3rd Favorite Winner at OAV IX 2026

BATAM – Another proud achievement has been made by students of Politeknik Negeri Batam (Polibatam). Two students from the Bachelor of Applied Managerial Accounting Study Program, Department of Business Management, successfully won 3rd Favorite Winner at the 9th Vocational Accounting Olympiad (OAV IX) 2026.

The achievement was earned by Muhammad Fadillah Amin and Isra Aprina Simatupang, who represented Polibatam in the vocational-level competition. They were guided by their supervising lecturers, Izzatul Jannah and Dwi Tiara Kurnilasari.

OAV IX 2026 was held at Politeknik Negeri Madiun under the theme “Strengthening Green Accounting in Indonesia through the Integration of Education, Profession, and Public Policy with the Active Role of Students as Agents of Change.” This theme provided an important platform for vocational students to demonstrate their academic abilities while strengthening their awareness of sustainability issues in the field of accounting.

Through this competition, students were not only tested on their understanding of accounting theory and practice, but were also encouraged to see the role of accounting in supporting sustainable development. The concept of green accounting has become an increasingly relevant strategic issue amid the growing need for industries and institutions to implement more environmentally responsible business practices.

This achievement shows that Polibatam students are capable of competing at the vocational level while responding to global issues. It also reflects the commitment of the Bachelor of Applied Managerial Accounting Study Program to continuously encourage students to develop their competencies, professional insights, and awareness of sustainability.
