Polibatam Holds Prayer Gathering for the Late Priyono Eko Sanyoto, Honoring His Dedication and Exemplary Legacy

BATAM – Politeknik Negeri Batam (Polibatam) held a prayer gathering to commemorate the late Mr. Priyono Eko Sanyoto on Friday, April 17, 2026, at the Auditorium on the 2nd Floor of the Main Building of Polibatam. The event was attended by members of the academic community as a tribute to his remarkable contributions and dedication to the advancement of vocational education in Batam and across Indonesia.

The event began with a preliminary session of Khotmil Qur’an, conducted by the Polibatam Tahfidz Student Community from 08:00 to 09:00 WIB. A solemn and reflective atmosphere was present from the outset, symbolizing the profound sense of loss felt by all over the passing of a figure who played a pivotal role in the development of Polibatam.

The main session continued with a collective prayer led by the Vice Director III of Polibatam, Dr. Muhammad Zaenuddin, and the Vice Director I, Ahmad Riyad Firdaus, Ph.D. Prayers were offered with sincere hope that the late Mr. Eko would be granted the best place in the hereafter, and that all his good deeds would be accepted as ongoing charity (amal jariyah).

In his remarks, the Director of Politeknik Negeri Batam, Bambang Hendrawan, expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation to the family of the late Mr. Eko:

“We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Mrs. Eko for her wholehearted support, allowing Mr. Eko to fully dedicate himself to the development of Politeknik Batam and polytechnics in Indonesia. May the knowledge he shared with all of us become a lasting charity (amal jariyah). It is our responsibility to continue his ideas and vision in advancing vocational education in Indonesia.”

The event then continued with heartfelt testimonials from Polibatam’s first Director, Mr. Wendy, as well as from colleagues and close friends of the late Mr. Eko. Each reflection clearly portrayed him as a visionary leader, a father figure, a mentor, and an inspiration to many. As a leader, he provided opportunities and space for the younger generation to grow and further develop his ideas.

This gathering served not only as a moment to pray for the late Mr. Eko, but also as a reflection on the values of integrity, dedication, and spirit that he instilled in the entire Polibatam academic community.

Farewell, Pak Eko.
May you attain husnul khotimah, and may our prayers always accompany you.
