إِنَّا لِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ

BATAM – The extended family of Batam State Polytechnic (Politeknik Negeri Batam/Polibatam) expresses its deepest condolences on the passing of our respected mentor, father figure, and teacher, Dr. Ir. Priyono Eko Sanyoto, DEA, IPU, who passed away this morning at Bhayangkara Hospital, Batam.

His passing leaves a profound sense of loss, not only for his family, but also for all members of Polibatam, colleagues, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him and experiencing his dedication and contributions.

The late Dr. Priyono was widely recognized as a leader of integrity, dedication, and remarkable contribution to both academia and community service. With a strong academic background as a doctor and engineer, he shared invaluable knowledge, insights, and exemplary leadership throughout his professional career. His perseverance, commitment, and passion for sharing knowledge have inspired many.

During his lifetime, in addition to serving as a permanent lecturer in Mechanical Engineering at Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), he actively contributed to the development of polytechnic education in Indonesia over the past 25 years. He played a pivotal role in leading Batam Polytechnic since its early establishment as a private institution in 2001, and continued his leadership when it transitioned into a public institution, serving as Director from 2001 to 2020.

He was not only known for his intelligence and professionalism, but also for his humility, compassion, and strong commitment to the values of togetherness. He consistently emphasized the importance of hard work, honesty, and responsibility in both professional and social life.

May Allah SWT accept all his good deeds and acts of worship, forgive his shortcomings, and grant him the best place by His side. May the family he leaves behind be given strength, patience, and sincerity in facing this loss.
