Polibatam Becomes a Center of Excellence: Successfully Hosts Vocational Certification Program for Lecturers and Education Staff from Across Indonesia

BATAM – Politeknik Negeri Batam (Polibatam) has once again demonstrated its commitment to strengthening Indonesia’s vocational education ecosystem through the successful organization of the Vocational Certification Program for Lecturers and Educational Staff (Tendik) nationwide. This national-scale program is more than just a training session; it is a strategic move to ensure that vocational educators and practitioners possess competencies that are relevant to the needs of today’s and tomorrow’s industries.

This large-scale event was the result of a strong collaboration between Polibatam’s SHILAU Unit and the Directorate of Human Resources at the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education. Additionally, the main strength of this event was the active involvement of the Center of Excellence (CoE) from various departments at Polibatam, which are at the forefront of technology and expertise transfer, including:

  • Department of Electrical Engineering: Through the Center for Robotics and Artificial Intelligence.
  • Department of Management & Business: Through the Center for Accounting & Fintech.
  • Department of Mechanical Engineering: Featuring four centers of excellence: the Center for Material Testing, Center for Design Pipe, Structure and Manufacture Production, Center for Mold and Dies, and the Center for Aircraft Maintenance and Development.
  • Department of Informatics Engineering: Supported by the Center for Polibatam Surveying and Mapping Service (PSMS), Digi.Arts Studio, and Polibatam Software Team (PSTeam).

The enthusiasm of the participants was reflected in the diverse demographic profile. A total of 358 participants, consisting of lecturers and education staff, gathered to enhance their skills. Remarkably, these participants came from 66 campuses and vocational faculties across Indonesia. This highlights Polibatam’s role as a hub for national vocational competency development.
