Polibatam Game Technology Study Program Holds Testing Days as Part of Project-Based Learning Evaluation
BATAM — The Game Technology Study Program of Politeknik Negeri Batam (Polibatam) held Testing Days as part of the evaluation of its Project-Based Learning (PBL) implementation. The three-day event took place from January 6–8, 2026, from 09:00 to 15:00 WIB, at the Main Building Lobby of Polibatam.
Testing Days provided a platform for students to showcase and directly test the games they had developed over the course of one semester. During the event, 24 first-semester student teams presented 24 board games, while 7 third-semester teams showcased three 2D digital games developed using the GDevelop platform.
All projects were tested directly by visitors, including members of the academic community and the general public. This testing process aimed to validate game concepts, mechanics, gameplay flow, and user experience, while also training students to receive and respond to direct feedback from users.
The Testing Days event was open to the public and received enthusiastic responses from gaming communities and industry practitioners in Batam. Representatives from local gaming communities and studios, including Game Development Batam, attended the event to try out the students’ games and provide professional feedback. Their participation added significant value to the learning process, as students gained real-world insights from the creative industry ecosystem.
Testing Days was organized by the Head of the Game Technology Study Program as a key evaluative moment in the PBL learning process. Throughout the event, all lecturers teaching first- and third-semester courses conducted direct assessments of team collaboration, game product quality, creativity, and students’ ability to present and defend their concepts.
Through this initiative, Polibatam reaffirmed its commitment to implementing practice-oriented vocational education that aligns with industry needs. Testing Days served not only as an academic evaluation platform but also as a space for collaboration, experimentation, and competency development in game development.
