YOUR VOICE FOR POLIBATAM’S DEVELOPMENT: COMMUNITY INVITED TO PARTICIPATE IN ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT

BATAM — Batam State Polytechnic (Polibatam) plans to construct new educational buildings and supporting facilities, as well as operate its campus at Jl. Ahmad Yani, Teluk Tering Subdistrict, Batam Kota District, Batam City. The development plan covers a land area of 92,367.58 m², with a total building area of 126,831.83 m² and a maximum operational capacity of approximately 18,000 people per day.

As part of the environmental assessment process, Polibatam is opening opportunities for community participation, particularly for those who may be directly affected by the planned construction and campus operations. Members of the public may submit suggestions, opinions, and feedback as input for the preparation of the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA), Environmental Impact Analysis (ANDAL), as well as the Environmental Management Plan and Environmental Monitoring Plan (RKL-RPL).

Community engagement is an important part of ensuring that the development process takes environmental, social, and local community interests into consideration. Through the feedback received, Polibatam hopes that potential impacts arising from the planned activities can be identified, assessed, and managed more comprehensively.

Several aspects being assessed include employment and business opportunities, air quality, noise levels, traffic conditions, surface water quality, runoff water, and public health. These assessments are necessary to ensure that the development can be planned and implemented responsibly and sustainably.

The public is invited to submit suggestions, opinions, and feedback until October 14, 2026. Input may be submitted through the barcode provided in the official announcement or through the contact information listed in the announcement.

Through this initiative, Polibatam encourages the community to take an active role in the campus development planning process. Public participation is expected to contribute to the shared effort of creating a Polibatam development that considers environmental sustainability, social aspects, and long-term benefits for the community.
