Polibatam Urges Prospective Students to Beware of Admission Fraud
BATAM – Politeknik Negeri Batam (Polibatam) urges all applicants and prospective new students to remain vigilant against various forms of fraud during the New Student Admission process, commonly known as PMB. These fraudulent acts may involve individuals claiming to represent Polibatam leaders, the admission committee, lecturers, staff, or certain parties who claim to have close connections with internal campus personnel.
The Vice Director for Academic Affairs of Politeknik Negeri Batam, Ahmad Riyad Firdaus, emphasized that the entire new student admission process at Polibatam is conducted officially, transparently, and in accordance with applicable regulations.
“The admission of prospective students is determined based on the results of the official selection process through the established system and mechanisms. No party can guarantee admission by requesting any form of payment,” said Ahmad Riyad Firdaus, as quoted by ANTARA News Kepulauan Riau.
He explained that Polibatam has never appointed any individual or third party to help applicants pass the admission selection process, either through national selection pathways or the independent admission pathway. Any offer to guarantee admission in exchange for money is considered fraud and may potentially constitute a criminal offense.
Polibatam encourages all prospective new students, parents, and guardians to always verify information through Polibatam’s official communication channels. The public is advised not to easily trust individuals who claim they can help secure admission in exchange for certain compensation.
Collective vigilance is an important step to prevent financial losses and to maintain the integrity of the new student admission process at Polibatam. Anyone who finds information, offers, or suspected violations related to PMB fraud is encouraged to report them immediately through the complaint hotline at 0811-7778-711 or by email at [email protected].
Currently, the PMB process at Polibatam has entered the re-registration stage for applicants who passed the National Selection Based on Achievement, or SNBP, while awaiting the announcement of the National Selection Based on Test, or SNBT. Meanwhile, Polibatam’s independent admission pathway has also been opened, with the examination and admission announcement to be conducted after the national selection announcement.
Through this announcement, Polibatam hopes that all prospective new students and the public will remain cautious, so that the new student admission process can run safely, transparently, and with integrity.
