Polibatam Holds Waste Segregation Awareness Program to Support Green Campus and SDGs

BATAM — Politeknik Negeri Batam (Polibatam) organized a Waste Segregation Awareness Program on Friday, 30 January 2026, at 1:00 PM (WIB), held at the 2nd Floor Auditorium of the Main Building, Politeknik Negeri Batam. The activity was attended by representatives from academic departments and administrative units within Polibatam.

The program was officially opened by the Vice Director II of Polibatam, Arniati, Ph.D, who, in her opening remarks, emphasized that waste segregation activities are part of Polibatam’s commitment to realizing a Green Campus and supporting the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the areas of environmental protection and sustainable development.

“Through this activity, we hope that all members of the Polibatam academic community will increase their awareness and take an active role in responsible waste management, starting with waste segregation in their respective work environments,” said Arniati.

Furthermore, the program aimed to provide participants with a clear understanding of the types of waste and proper segregation mechanisms, enabling consistent implementation across all departments and units. This awareness program also serves as an initial step toward strengthening an environmentally conscious culture as part of daily activities at Politeknik Negeri Batam.

Through this Waste Segregation Awareness Program, Polibatam reaffirms its commitment to contributing to environmental preservation and the achievement of sustainable development targets through the continuous implementation of the Green Campus program.
