Final Round of Polibatam B2B Sales Competition

Sequences event of Polibatam B2B Sales preparation courses finally reach final round competition that was held last Saturday (2/11) at Monas Building, Polibatam. The objective of this event is to select the best candidates to represent Polibatam in South East Asia Sales Competition in Maha Sarakham in 2020.

In the final round, 7 students from various study programs were competing. Polibatam also invited industry partner from PT NOV – Profab, Ms. Erna Permata Sari to play role as a buyer. Each participant was given 15 minutes to perform their sales skill and the jury selected 4 best candidates. The competition resulted Yuniarti from Managerial Accounting program as the winner, Martini Elizabeth from Accounting program as the 1st runner-up, Frilyan Juanda Adios from Multimedia & Networking program as the 2nd runner-up and Afifah Syahmarini Siregar from Business Administration program as the 3rd runner-up.

“It was the first competition delivered-in-English that i follow, and it gave me a chance to meet inspiring people and i really enjoyed to take part on the program to learn a lot about how to be a good sales executive”, said Yuniarti, a young woman who has born in Batam 29 June 1999.

In his remarks, Mr. Bambang Hendrawan as the project coordinator explained that the program is co-funded by Erasmus+ from Europe Commission with 3-years-duration of program. He hopes this will be a long-term program which expect more participants from all majors. He also encourages business administration students from the first and second year to join in this program as it is very related to their study.

Previously during September-October 2019, around 20 participants from all study programs in Polibatam joined in B2B sales preparation courses. This courses wasn’t only delivered through face-to-face learning but also apply blended learning through Polibatam e-learning system to provide the learning material to improve their knowledge about introduction to sales, product knowledge, SPIN, consumer behaviour, negotiation, role play, etc. Every 2 weeks, the participants got an opportunity to explore their competence through sales simulation with Polibatam industry partners. In the first trial competition, PT Excellitas took a part as a buyer while Fedex TNT participated in the second trial competition. PT NOV Profab took a part to succeed the final round of competition (2/11).

Through this program, all universitiy partners in South-East Asia were expected to adapt sales courses into their curricula.
